God’s Perfect Plan
Often times we run across different things, such as songs, movies, scriptures, or books, that touch our lives more than others. It may be because of situations we are going through or have gone through. It may be because of a particular interest we may have. I have has such a situation lately in the form of a book.
The title of the book is “Bloodline” by Skip Heitzig. It is not a brand new book as it has been around since 2019 but it is new to me. I can’t begin to explain how much I have enjoyed this book and how it touched my heart. I have often said how impressed I am with God’s attention to detail when it comes to His redemptive plan. It is nothing short of amazing. We often overlook it because we are too involved with life. That’s where this book touched me.
Bloodline is a book that carries you through the books of the Bible to slowly illustrate how God’s plan is evident and carried out from Genesis through Revelation. Too many times, we get caught up in the “stories” of the Old Testament and not what truly is going on. This book illustrates how (especially in the Old Testament) everything that has happened in the world steered us toward the day Jesus gave up His life on the cross. Not one single moment was lost or wasted. Even when mankind tried to mess things up and not follow God, He still worked everything out to His good and His plan.
Reading through this book was very humbling for me, as I began to see even more clearly, the amount of love He has for us. God has gone through a great deal of turmoil, headaches, and heartaches in order to be with you and I for eternity. I realized, while reading, how easily this plan could have gone off the rails had God not been in control.
If you have never heard of Skip Heitzig, look him up. He has a podcast where you can listen to his sermons. He has some other books that are also very well written. I am currently reading through a commentary type book of his on the book of Revelation. I have provided a link below where you can look and purchase Bloodline. I hope you give it a read, enjoy it, and be blessed.
