Who am I?
Hello. My name is David Washington and welcome to my blog Ripples of Life. I wanted to tell you a little about myself so that you would have an idea of where I am coming from in regards to the thoughts and ideas that you will see on this blog.
I feel that one of the most important things in life is honesty. I want to be as transparent as I can so that people feel they can trust me and not have to wonder if there are any hidden agendas. Those who know me personally will tell you that I am fairly blunt and to the point. I typically don’t sugar coat things or beat around the bush. When I first meet you, I am usually quiet and reserved until I feel that I have gotten to know you. This is because I don’t like to stick my foot in my mouth (it simply doesn’t taste good). That being said I believe what I believe. I am open to (and actually really enjoy) open discussion about beliefs and such, but I do not back down on what I think is right. I tend to have a very dry sense of humor. If you read closely, you will definitely pick up on this art of mine called sarcasm. I have been married for almost 18 years and my sister-in-law at times still feels that she is trying to figure me out.
I have three kids. Their ages are 15, 11, and 6. The two oldest are Mattie and Ella. The youngest is Gehrig. As I mentioned I have been married almost 18 years to Marcia. I love my family. They are very near and dear to my heart. As far as occupation, I am a physical therapist. I have my own practice in Pontotoc, MS where I was born and raised. I am a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where I serve as Deacon and Teen Sunday School Teacher. I have been a deacon for 10+ years and have taught a Sunday School class for over 20 years. I have taught almost all ages from kids to adults during this time. I have realized down through the years how much I enjoy teaching. I enjoy the discussion of topics and just hearing different ideas from people. I hope that I can help bring this out through this blog. Thanks for checking it out. God bless.
